My experience, opinions, comments about TewT ( Teaching English with Technology).
I have some opinions and comments about teaching with technology, (not teaching English with technology) is generally good method in teaching because all material that we are going to teach can be practical delivered moreover we teach English regarding its skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). As I said above that our learning can be practical because all skills can be easily learned for example; we want to know another term of a word in reading which is being read, so we just click the word then another word will be directly opened. But this method also can make us lazy to find the essential references from books. Consequently, the less learning of truth will be rampant because technology sometimes give fake moreover it uses the internet as media. This was proved when I was teaching my students at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, at the time I was teaching grammar by using internet. I browsed all materials on it, then I continued to teach the materials but while I had been teaching them suddenly one of them asked me about where I had taken the references of the materials. Then I answered that the references are in blogs, sites. Immediately, one of them said “yes, everything can be searched in uncle google”.

As I learned that language, society, and culture are definitely the most needed necessary to make an accepted relationship among society. But all of them are relative depend on source language, culture to target language, and culture. Once, I got a different word in Bugis language to Makassar language, the word is “cipuru”, cipuru means “hungry” in Makassar language otherwise it means “poor of money” in Bugis language. From this event we can see that a word of a language in one region is different with another region, so what we must to do in order to make a good relationship regarding the good communication is to see trough its society’s culture primarily the habit.
I want to try to comment a little about his opinions Mundzhir.
BalasHapusI think sometimes there is using the media and the negative side but also the positive side it all depends on the individual itself. Actually we should not blame anybody in the use of a medium as any media arises because there is an unmet need us. may be that's all,,,

Teaching English using technology,hmm I think that using technology in teaching English may be can succes if the school or the institution where you teach has the facilities about that. how about if it is i the different situation like small school or small institution that not have that facility.
I agree about the second one that we have to make a good relation in communicating with each other because of different language and culture.

Teaching English with technology is something that is not uncommon to hear but not all teachers or teacher is able to use it in teaching. Maybe because some of the things that do not allow such facilities or teachers may not be able to use the technology efficiently. This material is actually very good for improving knowledge of language, especially English, why do I say so because as we all know that technology is now growing rapidly in education and in the outside world. In conclusion the study technology very important to master a language.
Language, society and culture When we see the relationship between the three subjects above, I see that the third is related to all three. For example, when we speak of a society surely we must know the culture of the society itself, it is not good when we use the language of others or other areas without knowing the meaning and when language should be used, as when I say ‘panteng’ in Sinjai automatically people Sinjai interpret it as ‘a liter’, and when I say the word out Sinjai, suppose that the bone in the bone would make sense as ‘a bucket’. this is where we can see that the relationship between the three subject very important.

Based on your statement above that technology now growing rapidly in education. Thus, it is better if we use the technology in teaching especially teaching English and you also said that not all teachers can use it in teaching. So what is the solution for all teacher that cannot use it in teaching?
For the second one I agree that when we use one language of course we have to know about the culture of the society whose language we use.

That’s because they are provided in those sites.
TewT, is going to be very usefull for English teachers because all needs probably used in Teaching are provided there. TEwT occasionally publishes special issues in more specialised areas of technology use in language education or education in general. Therefore, it will ease the teachers to acces the material resourches in appropriate teaching method because the journal is interested in theoretical and practical articles that resonate with the international audience like us, UIN English education Department for an expert lecturer Mr. Yaumi. One of parts on Tewt we can use in teaching language (English especially) is Language Lab. That’s because language labs are chiefly used in schools, colleges and universities. They are sometimes also referred to as language resource centres, multimedia labs, centres for language study, language learning centres, interactive media centres, language and technology centres, media centres, open access centres, foreign language centres, open learning centres, open access multimedia centres, self-access centres, individualised language learning centres, independent learning centres, CALL centres/labs, world media and cultural centres, language acquisition centres, and language and computer laboratories. Therefore, Tewt is really funtastic site.

I had said before that those sites are really important and useful for the teachers to find appropriate materials in teaching because those are designed theoretically and practically for good teaching methods especially today. all teachers are supposed to be able to operate computer in any kinds of wishes like searching material which will be needed. therefore, i disagree if somebody said that those sites will make all teachers confused because of being foolish in Internet browsing, because i will ensure them that it's going to be the good starting to brows an internet site in searching appropriate materials and sharing good methods in teaching
i do agree whit what Muhairah said above that the site for language, society, and culture. this will ease all people over the world to interact one another in different languages with no more misunderstanding coming up because they will recover the ways to communicate, not becoming FLUENT FOOL anymore like i had ever posted before.

Yes. I also agreed with the statement ruswandi, who say that this is a good start for teachers to deepen the material and media technology is also a very appropriate medium for teachers today.
but I saw that, the teacher is now indifferent about the technologies that already exist, they only pay attention to the material already completed and the students have got such material without Noting the material has been mastered by students. especially by using technology that considers only the two media in teaching.

i do agree with you muhairah that the teachers have to know how to operate computer or even to brows any kinds of internet sites or links to perform the best ways to teach like many others today. i think it's gonna be the best start for them in those sites we have been talking about. not only those but also others which are appropriate in teaching
therefore, our beloved university (UIN)tries to put all PBI students in a very good lecture with an expert lecturer Mr. Yaumi, called CALL to make us understand how we find the ways to teach pretty well in order to avoid the left-behinding era

I think teaching english with technology is great thing in education world.As we knowthat every second of each is also no change in this world, especially in the field of technology.So as a teacher of languages, especially English teacher must be up to date on the technology , so impressed by the modern ways of teaching and not monotonous. but the problem with not all teachers can use in teaching.
Language, society, and culture are interrelated. When we are in an area of course not only know about their language,but also we need to know their culture. Because without understanding the three things(language,society,and culture) it will not be established good communication.

all teachers can take advantage of available technology, due to lack of knowledge and training in using these technologies. And talking about Language, society and culture that have relation to one another, because in every society has a distinct language and culture, so in addition we have to learn the language we must also learn the culture so that no misunderstandings of each other.

Hmmm,,,, Talking about technology, it a good thing for me.
So,I can say that teaching English by using technology is a good way. For example is Internet. From the Internet we can search more about anything that what we want to know. For teaching and learning English, in the internet there are many sites that available about it that can make us easy in learning about something.
As teachers, In teaching English with technology for students have to be careful because sometime the students using the technology in wrong way.

Bacause it is one of media in the teaching proses and the students don’t feel bored because of finding the same method every studying. It also make them easier to study, for example when they get homewore. They didn’t have to be difficult to go to library. They can directly open their internet. And for the teacher it make them easy to teach and to find their material lesson. But for the teacher have to control their student for using technology in learning proses because sometimes they do something that out of learning proses.
