  1. Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb . . .

Nice to get chance to give a comment here as the second group.

Based on this web "http://www.tewtjournal.org/", the same web given to the first group" we only focus on Game-based Learning which you can find by click on TEwt Resources.

It is James Gee who develop this Game-based Learning in 2003. It is believed that game can increase cognitive aspect for the children. As a fact in reality, game gives an addictive thing to the gamers. But this moment can be functional changed into a good method. There are many games which can assist student to get more knowledge. As a candidate of teacher in a modern era, we should be able to apply this method (game-based learning). Besides learning game to have a cheerful moment with children, we can develop their knowledge based on the game.

you can find some games which assist the student in gaining their English knowledge by visiting this web "http://gamestolearnenglish.com/"

    1. BISMILLAaH,
. . .thanks for the good recommendation from the second group. In teaching students, we should give various ways to deliver materials/lesson. And game is considered as better alternative way. By the way, can we conduct game in every session of an English Class”? what should the teachers do by the time the students are only eager to study by a game (over addictive)? Need your opinions. Thanks.

    2. Thanks for your nice comment and your questions. It can be denied that sometimes students feels bored with teaching and learning process. hence the teachers should conduct interesting activities such as game, sing a song, etc that can encourage their motivation and concentration. but it is not the best solution to conduct a game in every session in the class because it may be take more time. we have to realize that the aims or purposes on RPP should be reached. based on the teachers creativity to determine an appropriate situations in conducting games.
      Thanks

Thanks for your nice explanation about this web.I do interest to the game-based learning actually. But i have a simple question about this method.
Could this method occur for all kinds of the learners?
i mean all learners type such as visual, auditory and kinestetik?please explain.....
      Thanks....

Yups . . . game-based learner is one of a massive number of teaching methods. Basically we need to consider that absolutely not all type of learners can be comfortable in a methods/ theory. Sometimes it's a good method and some other time it might be a customary way to enrich the learner's view.

Therefore, as conclusion, we need more methods to teach a language and a methods could not be applied in all types of learner. every method has its own advantage and the contrary.

      Thanks a million.

Here, I would like to talk about whether Game-based learning is good to be used in teaching English.

For me, Game-based learning is helpful in teaching the four skills in English: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. It's also useful in introducing a new vocabulary and even structure (grammar).

All levels -elementary to advanced students- can use game in learning. Different levels means different kinds of game. Or it may be the same, but the materials or the contents used in the game may not be the same.

Considering the benefit of game in learning English, I believe it's so interesting for students. It's a new thing for them. It means students will be easier in learning English.

A game in studying English is not merely a fun activity created by a teacher in the classroom. The game could be formed by using computer application or may be online-based game.

This site http://www.educ.utas.edu.au/users/tle/JOURNAL/ is very interesting to learn it, because it has some journals that explain about three aspect are language, culture, and society. It has relationship each other, we can know that Language is the verbal expression of culture. Culture is the idea, custom and beliefs of a community with a distinct language containing semantics - everything a speakers can think about and every way they have of thinking about things as medium of communication. And way of speak based on their society.
After I saw the site, writer have a question as follow:
    1. Why this site doesn’t use media visual like you tube, Audio visual, tape recorder or other application which look like interesting to Read?
    2. What is the contribution of this site for teaching English with technology?
And then, last comment from me. This site is getting better if use some Application, use some language to enrich knowledge.
That was nice for you to your nice question and suggestion…………
    See you….

I will not give any comment for your first question because I am not an expert of it. but talking about the contribution of it toward Teaching English with technology, I absolutely agree that it has a very important role for it. Le (2002) maintains that it is not possible to separate language from its culture and that it is therefore necessary to combine the teaching of a language with the “culture of the target language.” It means that we need to know both, language and its culture at the same time. Of course, the site will make a flexible and efficient language learning through Computer,,,,

nice to see your comment Tadir.

we would like to respond your questions by reviewing the title of this site "The Internet Journal of Language, Culture and Society". The word journal based on wikipedia means "buku harian, artikel dalam majalah, dll" therefore, youtube, tape recorder, and all audio tools will be adversative with journal's definition. visit this site for more info click this site: http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurnal

for the next question, it's about the contribution of this site through teaching English by using technology. The second Group has an opinion about using technology. Using doesn't mean performing, thus using technology can be applied before, while and after teaching. This site only provides journals about language, culture and society, but for source before teaching, it's very beneficial for those who want to deliver a study or lecture about Language, culture and society. Yeahh . . . as a conclusion, this site can be used to teach English through technology. not to perform technology but to be a source in technical references.

    Thanks a million guys.

Game will be a very interesting method and learning process toward the student. But we still need to consider characteristic all the students in the class. It can't be denied that there are few of students who have better learning process when they maximize their audio or visual component. Although games will make anyone feels enjoy in learning a language, but using games all learning session will not be effective. But I agree that We need a creative learning process. One of them is Game Based learning.

We believe that all human being has cognitive side, hence, it also can increase but in a different response from adult.

APA, stands for American Psychological Association, has a job to make a standard of writing. As a broad outline, APA constructs these following a standard to be a good writing:

      punctuation and abbreviations
      construction of tables
      selection of headings
      citation of references, and
      presentation of statistics

you have some question, cieh cieh cieh . . . A new relationship (ups).

yeah using technology for adult will be a better way than an ancient methods. Adult will give a well response through their ways. As conclusion, game-based learning is good method but not all learners can be well included because of their interest or learning style.
